Matthew Townsend
Co-founder & Director
Matt co-founded K-Club in 2012 alongside his fellow Director, Fred Stone. Over the proceeding years, they developed the organisation into Manchester's premier network exclusively devoted to addressing the needs of entrepreneurs and business owners in the Northwest. The continued success and development of the group are only made possible through the collaboration of a talented team comprising fellow Directors, Associates, and Members.
K-Club has flourished and emerged as a hub for entrepreneurial activity in the region. The organisation has successfully orchestrated well over a hundred events since its inception, fostering connections and facilitating knowledge exchange among thousands of entrepreneurs from the vibrant Manchester community.
In addition to his role at K-Club, Matt holds the position of Chairman at Ultimate, a leading technology development agency. Having founded the company in 1994 at the age of 19, Matt's entrepreneurial spirit has been instrumental in its success.
Matt's diverse business interests and investments span across multiple sectors, including technology, creative industries, sports, performance, and well-being. Although varied in nature, these ventures share a common thread - a passion for entrepreneurship and a strong desire to collaborate with exceptional individuals.
Matt recently cycled the entire 2021 Tour de France route as part of a team that raised more than £1.3 million for the charity Cure Leukaemia. He's also an official ambassador for the Seashell Trust, a national learning disability charity that supports children and young adults with complex learning difficulties, disabilities, and additional communication needs from across the UK. In addition, he holds a trustee position with the Being Foundation.
Matt's personal philosophy encapsulates the essence of his approach to life and work: "Enjoy life, do great work." This mantra serves as a guiding principle in all his endeavours.
