K-Club Private Dining on a Ring-Road?!
On Thursday 22nd May 2025 we hosted a lunch event that was a feast for the tastebuds!

Nestled amongst tower blocks on the Manchester/Salford border, The Black Friar Pub is a true harmony of old and new. Dating back to 1886 the building lay derelict for years, before being lovingly restored and resurrected in 2021. With plenty of modern details and thoughtfully placed greenery, it was hard to remember that we were in the thick of Manchester and just yards from the Trinity Way ring-road!

We were delighted to be joined for lunch by Eamonn O'Neal OBE and for him to treat us to a very entertaining interlude between courses.
A well-practiced presenter and after-dinner speaker, Eamonn (who is current Chair of Prevent Breast Cancer - a charity close to our hearts) gave us an extremely honest and relatable summary of his career highlights; from a ‘Virgin’ nun, geography lessons and Man Utd, to there being “no-one quite like Grandma”, bonsai and being pricked by both a King and Queen.
There were definitely some great topics to continue with our table guests for lunchtime chats!
Lunch was served in the private Glass Room adjacent to the open kitchen, giving everyone a fantastic show as food was prepped for service. Our meal was Modern British offerings, celebrating local produce and creating simple, yet mouth-watering dishes.

Member Dominic Tinner of Seashell praised the event "Top event as always and great to see some new regulars who value what K-Club is all about. Eamonn O'Neal kept us all entertained. A great ambassador for philanthropy in Greater Manchester."
Guest Alastair Jones said "It was a really enjoyable event with great people and some excellent food. Another wonderful venue that I was not aware of before."
